Surgipath is pleased to offer the Clipped Edge Slide as part of our product line. The corners of the 'business end' of these slides are clipped at 45 degree angles. These clipped corners help reduce glass breakage and fragmentation when loaded into slide printers. They are optimal for use in the Leica and Sakura printers. Note that the ink silkscreen on these slides is specifically formulated for use on these printers.

FSC 22™ is an aqueous based frozen section embedding compound that bonds easily and quickly to all types of tissue samples.  It sections smoothly and delivers consistent, reliable results at a working temperature of -20° C. It is provided in standard clear or blue color that is excellent for distinctly showing small, light colored biopsies such as nerve tissues. 

Our laboratory Marking Pens are extremely versatile and are compatible with various writing surfaces found in the laboratory.  They have an extra fine point made of rigid nylon that allows for precise marking on glass slides as well as tissue cassettes.  The quick drying ink is highly resistant to aqueous based stains, alcohols, xylene and xylene substitutes.  A tight fitting cap helps prevent drying of the tip.  The pen barrel is ergonomically designed for ease of use. 

MM 24™ is a low viscosity mounting medium compatible with xylene (aromatic) and xylene-free (aliphatic) clearing agents. Slides coverslipped with this rapid drying formulation may be permanently filed within 24 hours when used with aromatic clearing agents or in 48 - 72 hours when used with aliphatic agents.  It is compatible with either manual techniques or with automatic glass coverslippers. 

Our One-Piece Microbiopsy Cassette is designed with 0.3 mm holes which help contain small biopsies during tissue processing.  The small holes allow for unrestricted fluid exchange throughout the processing cycle.   Cassettes are offered in fourteen different colors to meet the diverse needs of our customers.  They are compatible with most cassette printers.  

Surgipath Medical Industries offers prepackaged cassettes in tubes for a number of the automatic cassette printers currently available on the market.  We have developed a seamless tube that is more robust and sturdy than other competitive offerings and provides a smooth internal surface through which the cassettes can slide without obstruction.  Our prepackaged Micro Cassettes and Biopsy Cassettes work with the cassette printers offered by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Raymond Lamb, and Triangle Biomedical Sciences. 

The Safeshield disposable scalpel features a stainless steel Feather blade protected by a plastic safety shield that can be locked in place or moved.  The protective shield slides easily back and forth across the handle and locks into either an open or closed position to expose or cover the blade.  The ergonomically designed handle offers ease and user comfort while the sliding protective shield offers users another measure of safety. 

SelecTech™  Hematoxylin and Eosin Staining System

Surgipath has undertaken the task of standardizing the reagents and stains used in the hematoxylin and eosin staining procedure.  The reagents and stains that make up this new system must pass vigorous analytical chemistry standards and performance tests.  The built-in Quality Assurance parameters assure consistent results.  The reagents and stains in this system were designed to complement each other.  The result is a crisp, well delineated hematoxylin and eosin stain.  The new Hematoxylin and Eosin Staining System consists of Hematoxylin 560™, Blue Buffer 8™, Define™, Alcoholic Eosin Y 515™ and Eosin Trichrome 515™.
